Restricted leaf pickup

The Village of Newcomerstown will not be picking up leaves like they have in year's past. The village does not have the resources to complete this task.

Instead, they ask residents to mulch leaves or they will pick up bagged leaves that are placed at the curb. The village employees will make trips around town looking for the bags placed on the curbstrip.

Fall Fest planned

St. Paul Lutheran Church, 121 S. College St., Newcomerstown, will be having a Fall Fest for the community's pre-school through fifth grade children.

The Fall Fest will be Sunday, Oct. 27 from 2 to 4 p.m.

There will be activity and game stations, snack foods and fellowship.

Library board member

Newcomerstown Public Library is seeking candidates interested in serving as a board member.

Anyone interested may stop into the library to fill out form.

Trivia night planned

The next exciting trivia night at Newcomerstown Library will be Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.

Free hog roast planned

The Light in the Valley Ministries will have its fifth annual Community Hog Roast on Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The church is located at 101 W. Canal St., Newcomerstown.

The meal is free and open to the public.

Craft show planned

The Newcomerstown Emergency Rescue Squad, Inc.'s 23rd annual Christmas in the Village Craft Show will be Saturday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the David Barber Civic Center, Newcomerstown.

Many area crafters will be there. Items will include Christmas decorations, sewed items, ornaments, cards, crocheted items and much more.

Round, square dance planned

STONE CREEK -- On Saturday, Oct. 26, a round and square dance is planned from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Tunnel Hill Community Center, Stone Creek.

The cost is $5 per person.

The Hand-Picked Band and Gary Woods will be calling square dancing.

Cake walks, door prize, and the kitchen will be open for sandwiches and pie.

Pork, sauerkraut benefit

BALTIC -- A pork and sauerkraut benefit is planned for Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 5) at Fiat St. Peters UCC.

The meal will include pork, sauerkraut, real mashed potatoes, applesauce, hot dogs, Amish bread, cake and pie.

The meal will be a free will donation.

Donations will be used to help mission work and church needs.

Kurz Kasch will be a retirement dinner on Nov. 13 at 11:30 a.m. at April's Country Kitch'n in Newcomerstown.

Craft show planned

Newcomerstown Senior Center's first ever Fall Gala Craft Show will be Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the center, 222 S. Bridge St., Newcomerstown.

The center will sponsor a bake sale and lunch stand.

Adult grief support group

COSHOCTON -- A weekly adult grief support group meets every other Friday at 11 a.m. in the Health Services and Hospice of Coshocton, 230 S. 4th St., Coshocton. The next meeting is set for July 5.

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

Sonshine Boxes drop-off

Bob Pell's Nationwide Insurance office, located at 117 N. Bridge St., Newcomerstown, is a new collection site for items to be sent to soldiers serving our country. Items may still be donated at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, also in Newcomerstown. Sonshine Boxes consist of anything a soldier might need such as personal hygiene items, games, movies, etc.
