The American legion Post 431 of Newcomerstown took action on several requests for support on activities that will be taking place in Newcomerstown in the future.
They made donations to the Bicentennial fundraiser Newcomerstown-opoly, the Newcomerstown Historical Society's Christmas tree display, the Newcomerstown High School Marching Band's trip to Florida, the Sonshine Boxes being sent to troops, local Christmas boxes, the Honor Guard, the Newcomerstown Police Department, the Blue Star program for local families who have a member in the military service, the local Boy and Cub Scouts, the Cy Young baseball, and will be sponsoring a Veterans' Day meal at the Legion Hall for any local veteran plus one guest on Monday, Nov. 11 from 4 to 6 p.m.
The veteran must show membership or proof of being a veteran.
Local veterans that are members of the Legion are asked to renew their 204 memberships as the end of the year is getting ear.
All should have received the notices from the American Legion Department of Ohio.
Any local veteran who has not joined the Legion, is invited to come to the Legion and pick up an application or call Dennis Belle, the Adjutant, for questions.
