COLUMBUS -- Berkley and Spiderwire have partnered with Cabela's to bring national pro and Newcomerstown native Fletcher Shryock to Cabela's in Columbus on Friday, April 25.

Fletcher provided an hour long, "Shallow Crankbait Tactics," as well as answered pressing spring fishing season questions and be available to assist you with your gear and equipment needs.

"With spring bass fishing right around the corner it's an incredible opportunity to partner with Berkley and Spiderwire to offer this opportunity to our customers," said Derrek Shively, retail marketing manager. "Cabela's is proud to continue to offer customers not only the gear, but also the expert knowledge to pursue their outdoor passions."

A native of Newcomerstown, Fletcher is a former motocross racer who held a pro license for three years and competed at the AMA motocross and supercross nationals. After a shoulder injury sidelined his career in 2009, he turned his attention to bass fishing.

In 2011, Shryock won the B.A.S.S. Southern Open on Lake Norman in North Carolina, and qualified for the Bassmaster Elite Series in the same season. Entering the 2014 season, Shryock has recorded 15 finishes inside the top 50 in B.A.S.S. competition and has earned over $150,000.
