A Blue Star Banner ceremony honoring Pvt. Jesse Kanter and his family was conducted at the American Legion in Newcomerstown. Pvt. Kanter is a 2014 graduate of Indian Valley High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2014 for three years and completed Basic Training in Ft. Jackson, S.C., and Advanced Training at Fr. Carson, Colo., as an 88M Transportation Operator with the 4th Infantry Division. He is awaiting orders for assignment to Kuwait. Blue Star Banners were presented to his parents, sister and brother. Pvt. Kanter and his family stated they were honored for the banners and they will proudly represent members of all the armed services an those that have served.
