Special music this summer planned

St. Paul Lutheran Church, 121 S. College St., Newcomerstown, has announced the following people will present special music this summer and fall. Everyone is welcome to join them at the 10:30 a.m. worship service, to hear these musicians sing and play their praise to The Lord.

FaithTalks topic set for July 8

FRESNO -- The July 8 FaithTalks topic for adults and teens: King Belshazzar's last night starts as a hand appears and writes a message on the wall at 6:30 p.m.

IGNITE for youth 0-18 continues the Narnia story of the Silver Chair as the loosened prince leads the group on a hair-raising journey.

FRESNO -- The July 15 FaithTalks topic for adults and teens: Darius the Mede does what no one else can do at 6:30 p.m.

IGNITE for youth 0-18 continues the Narnia story of the Silver Chair as barefoot Puddleglum stomps out the enchantress's magical fire and breaks her spell. Discover 9 square in the air, a really fun group game.

VBS set at Chili church

FRESNO -- Vacation Bible School at Chili Crossroads Bible Church features The Kingdom Chronicles, a rousing adventure of knights, dragons and castles for kids age 3 through sixth grade. Includes snacks, fun games and prizes. July 14-17 from 6 to 8 p.m. each night. Free and open to the public.

St. Paul Lutheran to have VBS

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Newcomerstown (121 S. College Street) will be having Vacation Bible School July 13-17 from 9 a.m. to noon. The theme this year is SonSpark Labs, directed by Sascha Durben and Tracy Brown.

Get ready for a blast at SonSpark Labs. There will be snacks, games, music, crafts and more! There will be classes for preschool through sixth grade.

Christ United Methodist Church to have VBS

VBS is starting. Hey kids! Join the Christ United Methodist Church from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10 for summer fun.

The church is located at 648 Oak Street, Newcomerstown.

The theme this year for Vacation Bible School is "G Force- God's Love in Action."

Church to have ice cream social July 25

COSHOCTON -- The Roscoe United Methodist's ice cream social will be July 25. Rain or shine, you'll be comfortable in our air-conditioned fellowship hall. Serving will begin at 5 p.m. and last until the food runs out.

The menu consists of: shredded chicken, sloppy joes and/or grilled hotdog sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad, noodles, homemade desserts, ice cream and a soft drink. A suggested donation $5 per person is requested. All monies will be given to Relay for Life.

Roscoe UMC is located at 475 High St., (Historic Roscoe Village) Coshocton.

'Music and Sweets' planned

WEST LAFAYETTE -- An evening of "Music and Sweets" will take place Sunday, July 12 at 7 p.m. at the West Lafayette United Methodist Church, corner of Oak and Russell Avenues, West Lafayette.

The program will feature Chad Putka, Jacob Pantaloukas and the Smorgaschords.

A free well offering will be taken.

Following the program, they will have cookies and ice cream to enjoy, provided by the Music and Worship Committee.

Leakey to give empowerment talk

Andrew Leakey, from Bath, England, will be speaking on IN: COURAGE "Empowering God, Encouraging Community."

Leakey promotes unity and serves in relationship with other churches and ministries, believing this to be vital in demonstrating the real nature of God.
