NEW PHILADELPHIA -- The 2015 Tuscarawas County 4-H Demonstration Contest was held on July 14 at JIM's Place in New Philadelphia. Individuals and teams were evaluated on their presentation. The first, second, and third place winners in the Junior Division will compete at the Ohio State Fair on Aug. 5 where they will compete against other youth throughout the state.

Junior Division (under 14 as of Jan. 1)

First Place - Rachel Nay of Port Washington, member of Buckhorn Tribe, title of demonstration "From Grass to Gas: The Digestive System of a Cow."

Second Place - Anna Cox of Mineral City, member of Atwood Lakers, title of demonstration "Vintage Suitcase Dog Bed."

Third Place - Kayla Scott of Mineral City, member of Tusky Valley Stars, title of demonstration "Biosecurity on Your Farm."

Fourth Place - Zach Misko of Baltic, member of Crooked Run 4-H Club, title of demonstration "A Housewife Tale."

Fifth Place - Joseph Brown of Port Washington, member of Thunder Valley Pioneers, title of demonstration "Cool Breeze."

Senior Division (14 and over as of Jan. 1)

First Place - Micaliah Peffer of Zoar, member of Tusky Valley Farmers, title of demonstration "Upcycling Your Wardrobe"

Trophies for the contest were donated by the Tuscarawas County 4-H Committee. Judges were Carol Creager, Patty Maag, Myra Pancher and Rhonda Phillips
