COSHOCTON -- A West Lafeyette man, wanted in connection with a Saturday (July 11) shooting at a city business, was arrested by Coshocton County Sheriff's deputies Sunday morning (July 12).

According to reports, Mark A. Ray, 44, shot Alisha Melton, 34, outside the Dairy Queen Saturday afternoon.

As deputies searched for Ray, they reportedly located his pickup truck, a black 1995 Chevrolet S-10, in a field near Morgan Road a couple miles east of Coshocton at about 7:45 a.m. Sunday.

Deputies used a canine unit to track Ray to a wooded area, where a standoff ensued.

Ray remained incarcerated, awaiting the filing of charges against him.

Melton is reportedly in "stable" condition.

The shooting remained under investigation by the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office.
