NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Changes to the traffic pattern on Interstate 77 between Dover and Strasburg in Tuscarawas County are expected next week as part of the ongoing $3.76 million bridge removal project.
Beginning at 7 p.m., Tuesday night, July 28th, the southbound lanes will be crossed over to the northbound side to allow for the removal of the southbound structure. Changes to the work zone and traffic pattern are expected to be completed by 4 a.m. Wednesday morning, July 29th.
Two lanes of traffic will continue to be maintained in each direction.
ODOT's contractor, Independence Excavating Inc., from Independence, began work late last season to remove the twin, abandoned railroad bridges located about one mile north of the County Road 80 Exit in Dover Township. The completion date for the project is September 2015.
