Vacation Bible School is planned for July 27 through July 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Church of New Hope in Port Washington.

Vacation Bible School is for children ages 4 through sixth grade.

Church of Christ to have VBS

Vacation Bible School will begin soon at the Newcomerstown Church of Christ, located at 475 S. Goodrich St. The event is free and there is something for adults, children and teens. VBS is scheduled for July 27-30 from 6 to 8 p.m. nightly.

Topics this year will include God's Word, defining the inspiration of the Bible, and how it came to man, God's Love, His Son and His plan for salvation.

"This is a great opportunity to meet our congregation, have fun and learn more about God and His Word," said Greg Circle, preacher at Newcomerstown Church of Christ. "It happens in the evening and there are classes for children, teens and adults. We hope the whole family will join us for a study of God's Word."

Last year's event hosted 44 students and Circle hopes that number will grow in the congregation's seventh consecutive annual VBS.

Violinist coming to church

When they duo were here together this past March 1, there was a bad winter storm and just a few were able to attend.

They are hoping for a huge crowd. Save the date! Roscoe UMC is located at 475 High St. (Roscoe Village), Coshocton.

Christian music in the country

On Saturday, Aug. 1, Renner's St. Paul United Church of Christ, located between Bakersville and Baltic, will once again "celebrate" with an outdoor Christian music concert on the church lawn/pavilion which sit on a hillside in southwestern Tuscarawas County. Food is available at 6 p.m. and music starts at 7 p.m. Visitors may bring lawn chairs or a blanket. Some chairs and tables will be provided.

Featured performers include the mixed a cappella Crosspointe Chorus, whose 40 or so members range in age from 13 to 60+, and the Davis Street Duo, a teenage brother/sister team from Uhrichsville.

The chorus, directed by Josiah (Joe) Troyer, will sing a mixture of traditional hymns and some choral numbers. The duo's music includes country/bluegrass/gospel vocals and instrumentals -- sprinkled with some brother-sister humor.

The church is located at 7620 Renner Road SW, Fresno. From Baltic, travel south on Route 93, left (or east) onto Coshocton County Road 88, two miles uphill to Renner Road, and then approximately two miles to church. From Route 36, travel north on County Road 93 for 7 miles to the church.

If the weather is inclement, activities will be held inside.
