Festival meeting

No decision has been made on whether there will be a 2016 Cy Young Days Festival.

Instead, there is another committee meeting planned for Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Dick's Place to further discuss options.

Ice cream social

On Saturday, Aug. 1 at 4:30 p.m., the Blue Ridge Grange will be hosting an ice cream social.

The Grange Hall is located at Routes 36 and 751.

The menu will include sloppy joe, cream chicken, hot dog, coney, salad, drink, dessert, peanut butter or vanilla ice cream.

Proceeds will go to the Blue Ridge Grange.

Community yard sales set

The Newcomerstown Chamber of Commerce's community yard sales will be Friday, Aug. 7 and Saturday, Aug. 8. For your sale to be added to the list of sales and advertised, call 740-498-4545.

'Country Music at the Museum' set

The Newcomerstown Historical Society will host "Country Music at the Museum" on Aug. 7 with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and event starting at 6 p.m.

Three local favorite bands are scheduled to appear followed by a jam session.

Eat stand will be open. Tickets are $5 at the door or $4 in advance.

Rummage sale set

The Newcomerstown Senior Center is sponsoring a rummage sale Aug. 7 and 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Donations will be accepted for gently used items.

No heavy furniture or appliances, please.

Retirement luncheon set

The monthly retirement luncheon for Kurz Kasch employees will be Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 11:30 a.m. at April's Country Kitch'n in Newcomerstown.

GI Joe Drop set

The Cy Young Youth League will have a GI Joe Drop on Sept. 7 at Lee Stadium at 8 p.m.

A total of 10 contestants will have the opportunity to win the grand prize of $750, second place prize of $250 or eight smaller prizes.

Drawing for the ten winners will take place Sept. 5 at Baker's IGA.

Tickets are $1 each, and my be purchased from any Cy Young Youth League member or coach.

Farmers' market to return

Newcomerstown Library's Farmers' Market is now open from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Friday through the second week of October in the parking lot of the Newcomerstown Public Library.

There is no fee to set up, but each vendor must fill out a form at the library to participate. Interested vendors may call the library for more information at 740-498-8228.

Single moms group

Are you a single mom who needs a break, some answers, hope, wisdom, help? Join the Single Mom's group meetings on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. at RaChard's Coffee Cove, 209 W. Main St., next to the Feed Barn.

Based on the book,"Hope and Help for the Single Mom," The 21 Principles of a Healthy Single Mom written by Lori Little.

The series is sponsored by the Victory Assembly of God and is free of charge.

The Newcomerstown Public Library now has notary services available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The services are free of charge.

TOPS meets on Tuesdays

TOPS, Taking Off Pounds Sensibly, Chapter 2227, in Newcomerstown, has meetings each Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Newcomerstown.

Christ's Kitchen

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
