The community's first Out of Darkness Walk will be at Lee Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 27.

Registration starts and 1 p.m., and the walk is from 2 to 4 p.m.

Out of Darkness Walks raise funds for suicide prevention and awareness. Main speaker is Eric Hipple, former quarter for the Detroit Lions, who lost his son to suicide. Hipple will speak directly with our high school football team before the walk and the football team will be involved in helping as a community project.

Also happening is a balloon launch; free refreshments; a disc jockey; exercise before the walk; team pictures; and the teen speaker, Jayde Bricker, a Newcomerstown High School senior.

Walking teams are welcome to sign-up at www.Out of Darkness Walks -- and then search for the Tuscarawas/Carroll County Walk.
