PORT WASHINGTON -- The Port Washington-Salem Historical Society will meet Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall and anyone is welcome to attend meetings.

Dues are $1 a year and January will begin a new membership year with anyone interested in being a new member .

The historical society has been busy working on getting estimated for repairs to the Town Hall of the removal of the old fire escape and a new one put on so the building can be opened to the public, new storm windows for the first and second floor, new heat system as the old system was not safe to use any longer and many other smaller repairs. Once storm windows are put on windows can be repaired from the inside as they are in much need of repair and new putty and paint.

All repairs are very costly and grants must be applied for for repairs to the building in hopes of keeping the beautiful building for many years for the future of the village.
