It was great to see so many parents at Parent-Teacher Conferences held Nov. 5 and 6. Conferences are an important way our teachers are able to communicate and partner with parents in the development of their children. Thank you to all who attended!

East School hosted Breakfast with Grandparents the second week of November. Being able to spend this time together was a huge hit with students and grandparents!

The next PTO meeting at East School will be Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. Mrs. Gardner's and Mrs. Johnson's classes will be giving a short presentation at the start of the meeting.

The Mobile Dentist will be at the East School on Dec. 10. Dental care remains the greatest unmet health need among U.S. children. Enrollment forms will be sent home over the next several weeks. This is an excellent opportunity to have your child seen by a dentist at school. Simply fill out and sign the enrollment form and return it to school byNov. 20.If you do not have dental insurance, please call the school nurse at 740-498-6601 and she will provide a separate form in which your child can be seen by the dentist at no charge. If you have not received a form, please contact the school today and ask for one to be sent home with your child. This is an excellent opportunity to keep our children healthy, in school and learning.

Students of the Month named

Each month a student is chosen by an East School teacher as Student of the Month and recognized at the Board of Education meeting. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

September Student of the Month:

"Kaitlynn is a very nice and polite student. She always volunteers to answer questions and is always willing to help others. She is a hard worker and a very good listener," Mr. Mayse."

October Student of the Month:

"When I asked Natalee what she wanted to be when she grew up, her first response was a princess. Don't we all?!? Then she said she wanted to be a cop because they help people, and keep our town safe. I hope she can one day follow her dreams and keep our town safe. Natalee is a sweet, caring girl whom I enjoy having in my class. She's always willing to help in any way she can. She always tries her best even when she gets discouraged. Keep up the great work Natalee," Mrs. Brookover.

November Student of the Month:

"Katelyn was chosen for Student of the Month because she is an outstanding student. She has a great personality and character. She is a good model for other students in our class and shows excellent behavior and helps others when she can. She does everything that is asked of her and doesn't need reminded of the classroom rules. She shows great role model and leadership skills. She is a bright student and has a great future ahead of her," Mrs. Gardner.
