Bell ringing starts
Bell ringing to support the local Salvation Army, administered by Journey's End Ministries in Newcomerstown, is under way.
It helps families in the Newcomerstown, Port Washington and Stone Creek areas with utility disconnects, prescriptions, and gas for medical appointments.
They will be ringing at Baker's IGA from Thursday through Sunday, between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, with all money raised staying in the community.
The budget for this year is $8,000.
Choir coming to town
The Coshocton Community Christmas Concert will be Sunday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 121 S. College St., Newcomerstown.
There is no charge to the public; however, a free will offering will be accepted.
Coin club to meet
Tuscarawas County Coin Club will meet on Monday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Linn-Hert-Geib Family Center, N. Wooser Avenue, Dover.
Public is welcome.
Christmas dinner planned
Journey's End Ministries will have a Christmas dinner on Dec. 17 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church, 440 S. River St., Newcomerstown.
The dinner is open to the public. Come and enjoy good food and Christian fellowship.
Genealogical society to meet
The Tuscarawas County Genealogical Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7. Election of officers will take place.
Retirement luncheon set
Kurz-Kasch retirees will meet for their monthly retirement luncheon on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 11:30 a.m. at April's Country Kitch'n in Newcomerstown.
Senior citizens' lunch set
Ridgewood High School will host the senior citizens' lunch on Wednesday, Dec. 16, which includes a performance of "It's a Wonderful Life" and lunch.
Ridgewood Drama will then perform "It's a Wonderful Life" on the evening of Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. for the public. Tickets will be available at the door.
Tunnel Hill Community Center, 112 E. Maple St., Stone Creek, will be open on Tuesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. for walking, exercise, playing cards, or visiting with friends.
If someone wants to make a quilt or learn hand quilting, call Pauline at 330-308-0709. She is hand-quilting in a hoop.
Single moms group
Are you a single mom who needs a break, some answers, hope, wisdom, help? Join the Single Mom's group meetings on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. at RaChard's Coffee Cove, 209 W. Main St., next to the Feed Barn.
Based on the book,"Hope and Help for the Single Mom," The 21 Principles of a Healthy Single Mom written by Lori Little.
The series is sponsored by the Victory Assembly of God and is free of charge.

The Newcomerstown Public Library now has notary services available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The services are free of charge.
TOPS meets on Tuesdays
TOPS, Taking Off Pounds Sensibly, Chapter 2227, in Newcomerstown, has meetings each Thursday at 5:45 p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Newcomerstown.

Christ's Kitchen, located in the Fellowship Hall of the Christ United Methodist Church in Newcomerstown, serves dinner from 4 to 6:15 p.m. every Monday. The dining room is open from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
