The Heels Down 4-H Club had a very good 2015. Everyone did very well with the projects they took scoring 17 gold, nine silver and one bronze.
They had two fundraisers this year that paid for all project books, insurance, shirts and hats, decorations for the fair and food vouchers at the Clover Cafe. They sold frozen pizzas and had a car wash/bake sale at Tony Mart in Port Washington with great community support.
At the year end banquet at Brent and Donna Peppers' house, they decided to give back to the community that has supported them for the past 17 years. They had a unanimous vote to support the local fire department.
Advisor Dave Dyer and son Austin Dyer presented John Bourne, chief of Delaware Valley Joint Fire District. Advisor Brent Peeper presented Heather Stein-Wells, president of Newcomerstown Emergency Rescue Squad, a check, and advisor Richard Garno presented Tim Johnson, president/assistant chief of Liberty Community Volunteer Fire Department, a check.
They would like to thank everyone who supported the club this year. Without your support, they would not be able to have a 4-H club.
