DOVER -- Get the family outdoors and experience the beauty of Tuscarawas County at the Norma Johnson Center's Winter Hike.

This free family event endorsed by Healthy Tusc will be Saturday, Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be three marked trails for your hiking enjoyment with different levels of difficulty. After your hike, warm up in the red barn with Union Hospitals Chef Mike's soup. Hot chocolate will also be available to warm your hands and your soul. If snow is present, bring your sled and enjoy some of the slopes the NJC has to offer. Pets are permitted but must be on a leash and cleaned up after, if necessary. The trail maps and starting points will be located on Conservation Drive in the parking lot at the Norma Johnson Center (located off of Old State Route 39 on Conservation Drive) from 10 a.m. to noon. There is no charge for the event but children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. They would like to thank United Way, Union Hospital and Hillside propane for their donations for this event.

Dress warmly and be prepared to hike, play and discover the forest during the winter time.
