Kindergarten registration set

Newcomerstown Exempted Village School District will host kindergarten registration on April 21 and April 22 at the East School.

No appointments are necessary. The times for registration are April 21 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 5:30 p.m., and April 22 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Required documents include: Birth certificate, immunization records, social security card and custody papers, if applicable.

Children who will be entering kindergarten in the fall must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1, 2016. Each child will be given a speech and hearing test, Brigance, and vision screening at registration.

Parents will be given a kindergarten handbook and many suggestions to use to help children best prepare for entering school. This year, children who attend registration will be given a few school supplies for use at home.

It is very important that all children who will be entering kindergarten in the fall come to registration.

The art show will be held°May 5,°Thursday, from°4 to 6 p.m.°for everyone in grades K-5 at West School gym.°Also, this year's art show will be an Artome art show like last school year with framed artwork available for purchase price of $25 (with $6 per frame sold going towards purchase of art supplies for all students). Each student in grades K-5 will have one artwork framed and on display that evening.°There will also be ceramics from various grade levels on tables for display.°Everyone is welcome to come out°to West School on May 5°and see all the great artwork our students have completed this school year!
