On Saturday, July 30, Barbara Storck welcomed class members and guests when the Newcomerstown High School Class of 1951 met for their 65th year anniversary reunion. The event was held at the Olde Main Street Museum & Social Center in Newcomerstown.

Arlie and Betty Wiandt were greeters and in charge of the guest book. Ellen Baker managed the refreshment table. Kitten Crater read messages from some of the class members who were unable to attend.

Richard Mathias and Shirley Crew presented a memorial program honoring class members and spouses who had passed since the last reunion. This was followed with a group prayer, The Lord's Prayer, in memory of those class members and spouses.

The class enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by Schumaker Farms, West Lafayette, then spent the evening in fellowship. Door prizes were later awarded by Marilyn Norman.

The evening was closed with an Irish Blessing given by Barbara Storck.

During a short business meeting the class decided to discontinue future formal reunions. They will, however, continue with their monthly lunches on the third Wednesday. All are welcome to attend.

The class also decided to make donations to Journey's End Ministries, Newcomerstown, and Martha's Cabinet at Fresno.

To complete the weekend, some of the group met on Sunday, July 31 at April's Country Kitch'n for lunch.

The next scheduled lunch meeting will take place at April's Country Kitch'n on Aug. 17 at noon.
