There will be no Euchre this month at the Newcomerstown Public Library Annex. It will resume Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m.
Family Movie Night set
Family Movie Night will be Friday, Aug. 19 at 6:15 p.m. Visit the Library Annex for a family movie. Check with the library or check the library's web site (www.nctlib.org) for more details.
Football game set
The Newcomerstown football team will be playing a Jamboree game at Lee Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. This game is an OHSAA sanctioned event and admission will be charged as follows: Adults, $5; and students, $3. Passes will not be honored due to this being an OHSAA event. The Trojans will be playing the Crooksville Ceramics and the contest will be run under regular game conditions. The cheerleaders will be leading cheers. The band will be performing at halftime and the Band Boosters will have the concession stand open. The Athletic Boosters will have the Pride Shop open selling t-shirts and other items. Come out and support the Trojans as they prepare for the 2016 season.
The Kimbolton United Methodist Church will have its monthly breakfast on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 8 to 11 a.m. The public is invited.
Track renovation done
The track renovation at Lee Stadium in Newcomerstown is complete and the residents may resume walking on it. Walk in lanes 7 and 8 to take the stress off the most used lanes during the track season thus allowing a longer life for the new track.
Friends of the Library looking for president
The Friends of the Library is searching for a new president. Stop into the library and ask for details. Yearly memberships run from September to September, with meetings on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Individual membership is $5 for the year. Family membership is $10 for the year, and corporate membership runs $25 for the year. Membership forms are available at the Library circulation desk.
Farmers' market and book sale
The Newcomestown Friends of the Library hosts a book sale in the Newcomerstown Library Annex each Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The farmers' market runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Friday. The last day for the outdoor market is Friday, Oct. 14.
Kids' carnival set
A kids' carnival is set for Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Burt Park, West Lafayette. The carnival is sponsored by the West Lafayette Police Department. It is free and open to the public. There will be games for kids and adults, snow cones, popcorn and more.
Family Fest set
Family Fest is set for Aug. 20 from noon to 9 p.m. at the 300 block of Main Street, Coshocton. Opening ceremonies and vendors start at noon with disc jockey following live entertainment starting at 2 p.m. The Upper Room Worship Team, Elliott Baccus Project, Mrs. Tripple, Mother Scott, and Everett Ferguson, Club Jesus Band, County Specialist, and special guest Git Shorty will perform. Proceeds will go to The Upper Room expenses.

Do you like the Newcomerstown Library? Do you regularly attend the library's events or spend time browsing the DVDs and books? Then consider becoming a Friend of the Library. Friends of the Library members help fund the Newcomerstown Library and great programs like Summer Reading, One Book One Community, and the Library's Halloween and Christmas events. Friends help with these activities and with weekly book sales held at the Library Annex.

The Newcomerstown Public Library now has notary services available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The services are free of charge.
