Newcomerstown Middle School held its annual fundraiser for the American Heart Association on Thursday, Feb. 16, where students enjoyed a variety of activities, including the Jump-a-thon (jump rope, standing broad jump, vertical jump), Hoops for Heart (knockout), and for the 2nd year, Jail and Bail. Thanks to the generous donations of so many, we surpassed our goal again this year, raising a total of $1,570.43 for the AHA. The 7th graders were top fundraisers this year, with $451.00, and will be rewarded with a dance for their hard work. Top individual fundraiser this year was 8th grader Noah Gano, who raised $128.78. Specials thanks go to law enforcement representatives Trooper Durben, Police Chief Holland, and Officer Troyer for giving up part of their day to help us with the "Jail and Bail."
