Library event

The Newcomerstown Public Library is planning a Cake Baking Contest on Thursday, April 26, from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Does your cake have what it takes to wow your Library’s judges? Flavor and presentation are considered. Cakes must be made from scratch, but they can be any size or flavor. Cakes need to be dropped off at the library by noon. Contestants don’t need to be present for judging. A list of ingredients for allergies is required. Cakes will be judged by taste, texture, and overall appearance. Four rewards will be given, including a patron’s choice award. So drop into the Library and vote! Entries must register by April 14.

Class of 1958

The Newcomerstown High School Class of 1958 will meet for lunch on Thursday, April 12, at 12:30 p.m. at Unusual Junction outside Newcomerstown.

Class of 1960

The Newcomerstown High School Class of 1960 will meet for lunch at noon on April 11 at The Coshocton Yard, 442 Main St., Coshocton.

Class of 1957

The Newcomerstown High School Class of 1957 will have its monthly get together at noon Tuesday, May 1, at Myers Country Diner in West Lafayette. Be advised the Diner is cash only.

Art showing

The West Lafayette Library is featuring the art of Lorie Udischas during April. Lorie is showing her acrylic paintings of birds and a landscape. Library hours are Monday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, noon to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Kurz Kasch retirees

The Kurz Kasch retirees will meet at 11:30 a.m. on April 11 at April’s Country Kitch’n.

Soup supper

Renners United Church of Christ, 7620 Renner Road, Fresno, will host a soup supper beginning at 4 p.m. on April 14. The menu includes chicken noodle, bean, potato and vegetable soups, chili, hot dogs, salad, pie, cake and beverage. A free will donation will be appreciated.

Stamp show

The Tuscora Stamp Club will have a stamp show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, at the Tuscora Park pavilion in New Philadelphia. Admission is free. At 4 p.m. there will be an auction of stamps, supplies and philatelic material.

Garage sales

WEST LAFAYETTE — Village wide and vicinity yard/garage sales, usually over 100 sales, will be May 4-5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Listings of paid participants will be available beginning May 2 at Statements by Shannon on E. Main Street; Dale Gress Real Estate office on W. Main Street; or at 103 W. Music benefit

A Bluegrass Gospel / Country Music Jam is planned for the third Sunday of each month from 2-5 p.m. at the Historic Everals Chapel, 60417 Everals Church Road just west of Newcomerstown. The next jam session is scheduled for April 15. The event is hosted by Chestnut Hill Bluegrass band and sponsored by Everals Chapel Preservation Society. Mother’s Day

Banana split

Everyone is invited to help celebrate community kids who have memorized many Bible verses this year by attending the AWANA awards ceremony and stick around afterwards for ice cream at the 100 foot banana split. Professionals’ Day

Join First Step to celebrate Administrative Professionals’ Day on Wednesday, April 25, noon to 1 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, 142 N. Fourth St. in Coshocton. Lunch will be catered by Schumaker Farms. Cost is $15 for ham salad or chicken salad croissant, soup, salad, dessert, tea, coffee or water.
