Resurfacing is under way on State Route 751 in Coshocton County. The road is being resurfaced from West Lafayette to the Tuscarawas County line. Motorists can expect two lanes of traffic to be maintained with daily flagged lane closures. The contractor is Shelly Co. The estimated completion date is Oct. 15.

Library event

The Newcomerstown Public Library is planning a Cake Baking Contest on Thursday, April 26, from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Does your cake have what it takes to wow your Library’s judges? Flavor and presentation are considered. Cakes must be made from scratch, but they can be any size or flavor. Cakes need to be dropped off at the library by noon. Contestants don’t need to be present for judging. A list of ingredients for allergies is required. Cakes will be judged by taste, texture, and overall appearance. Four rewards will be given, including a patron’s choice award.

Traffic change

COSHOCTON CO. — As work continues on the SR-16/SR-541 bridge replacement project, drivers will see the following traffic pattern change. SR-541 at SR-16 will be shifted into the Phase 1 traffic pattern for bridge work. Traffic will be shifted to the south side of the bridges and reduced to one lane in each direction on SR-541. A Bluegrass Gospel / Country Music Jam is planned for the third Sunday of each month from 2-5 p.m. at the Historic Everals Chapel, 60417 Everals Church Road just west of Newcomerstown. The event is hosted by Chestnut Hill Bluegrass band and sponsored by Everals Chapel Preservation Society.
