WEST LAFAYETTE — Sunday, April 29 is Compassion International Sunday at First Baptist Church, 688 East Main St., West Lafayette.
For the past 65 years, Compassion's focus has been on helping release children from poverty in Jesus' name. Today, 1.8 million children are sponsored in 25 countries around the world through Compassion. Be sure to be here to learn more about this exciting compassionate ministry. Sunday School is at 9:15 a.m. and the church service is at 10:15 a.m. All are welcome to the ever growing ministry with Pastor Jim Evans.
The Awana closing program is 6 p.m. Sunday, April 29.
Awards will be given, workers will be thanked, a short clip of the past year’s activities will be shown and Pastor Evans will give a challenge to family, parents and students. A meal will follow in the Life Center. All are welcome.
Friday, May 4, there will be food for sale and a garage sale at the First Baptist Church for the Yellow Flag Sale. Use the back entrance into the Life Center. There will be no food sold or garage sale on Saturday, May 5.
On Friday, May 4, and Saturday, May 5, there will be food available to purchase at the Food Stand at the end of the park sponsored by the First Baptist Church of West Lafayette. Proceeds go to the Youth Program.
