On Friday, June 2, the Newcomerstown Public Library will start loaning video game systems. You read that right!

The video game systems include the Nintendo Classic Mini, the Super Nintendo Classic Mini, the Sega Genesis Classic, and the Atari Flashback. You can take them home for one week (just like DVDs). Just one per household, please.

You’ll also have the chance to try one of the 10 new hotspots without placing a hold. Your Library now has a total of 25 hotspots. The expansion of the program is thanks to a grant from the Thomas R. Little Fund.

You can also take home a pair of digital binoculars. These let you take photographs and videos of birds and other wildlife. You’ll need your own Micro SD card. You can also take home Kindle Fire Tablets for Kids. These tablets are loaded with kid-friendly apps and various EBooks. You won’t have to worry about your kids getting online because WIFI and web browsers are disabled. This technology lending program is a pilot. Be sure to give us your thoughts. Your Library will consider expanding if the program proves to be popular with you.

You can also checkout eight DVDs at once starting Friday, June 29.

Your Library can offer these programs and more thanks to your support. Your levy dollars keep the books, DVDs, video game consoles, and other items coming.
