Students who are members of Mrs. Porter’s Book Buddy Reading Club at East School met for their end of the year party on May 22-23.

The 28 kindergarteners and 19 first graders enjoyed a movie and were treated to pizza, cookies, chips and juice for a special snack. All of the children received a book passport, (listing all of the books they read throughout the year), a certificate of honor in reading, and a bronze reading medal.

The student who read the most books in kindergarten and first grade won an E-reader with eight Disney books. The top prize winner for kindergarten was Bryson Eckleberry in Mr. Mayse’s class. In first grade, the top reading prize was awarded to Maci Fries in Mrs. Troyer’s class. Teachers said "Congratulations to all of the reading club members and their parents for a job well done!"
