Thanks to all the volunteers, parents, and kids that made this year’s summer reading program a success! This year the kids have read a total of 169,067 pages. Great job! The kids learned about animals, musicals, dance, instruments, and other fun things like how to tie dye shirts. Your Library cannot offer programs like this, video game systems, movies, books, and more without your levy support, volunteered time, and all the other help you offer. Thank you.
Speaking of programs, starting in September you can take free online classes through Lynda.com. All you need is a library card! Lynda offers online classes covering a range of topics including graphic design, video game design, education, business, photography, software development, and more. Learn how to play a guitar or program a video game on your schedule. Learn bookkeeping skills, managerial skills, and other skills to improve your business. Lynda offers certificates of completion when you finish a course pathway. Again, all of this becomes available for free when this service rolls out in September.
For those of you interested in video games, you can now place holds on the Nintendo Classic Mini and the Super Nintendo Classic Mini. Your Library has two copies of each, one for holds and another for first-come, first-serve check outs.
