COSHOCTON — Preschoolers (and their adult assistants) are invited to relive the county fair each Thursday in November (with the exception of Thanksgiving) at the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum’s preschool program, "Going to the Fair."
Each week’s activities will focus on one or two fair events. Week one, children will have a food competition and decorate cookies. Week 2 they are encouraged to bring in a favorite stuffed animal for showing. Collections will be the topic for Week 3. Children may bring in one of their own collections to show. Week 4 will focus on clothing.
Going to the Fair is geared for children 2 – 5 years and is held from 10-10:40 a.m. Afterwards parents and children are may explore the museum on their own until 11 a.m.

The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum will have its next Family Paint Night Nov. 4, from 4-6 p.m. This art class is geared towards children ages 6 and older, and their guardians (moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, etc.). Each person will paint his or her own 16" x 20" stretched canvas using acrylic paints. Be inspired by pumpkins, moonlight and all things Fall. Within two hours you and your child will take home your own masterpieces.
Cost for Paint Night is $16 for one adult and one child; $20 for one adult and two children. Friends Family Memberships receive $3 off. Class size is limited and reservations with payment must be received by Oct. 30. Payment may be made through phone or in person.
The Ohio Arts Council also helped fund this event with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.
Local Beatles aficionado Gary Baker will present a 50th Anniversary of The Beatles’ White Album program at the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 6:30 p.m.
Enjoy rare audio and video footage, LPs, 45s, posters and advertisements as Gary shares the fascinating stories behind the writing, recording and production of the best-selling album of the 1960’s.
Gary is well-known around the Coshocton area as a lover of all things Beatles. He has made multiple trips to both Liverpool and London to explore Beatles’ haunts such as the famous Cavern Club, Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields and Abbey Road. For the past two years he has been a special guest on WTNS-FM with host Mike Bechtol for shows on both the 50th Anniversary of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and The White Album.
This special night is for everyone: the diehard Beatles fan, students of 1960s counterculture and young listeners just discovering the music of the most influential band in history.
The cost for the event is $2 for adults. Students are $1.50 and Friends of the Museum receive free admission.
