DENNISON — The Tuscarawas County Convention and Visitors Bureau is inviting all area tourism partners to a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 21 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum in Dennison to discuss tourism in Ohio.
Matt MacLaren, director of TourismOhio, will be discussing ways to promote tourism in the state of Ohio to the benefit of Ohio’s economy. Dee Grossman, executive director of the Tuscarawas County Convention and Visitors Bureau, along with her staff, will provide local tourism news and updates. Light refreshments will be provided. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Convention and Visitors Bureau’s office at 330-602-2420.
MacLaren will be working diligently to increase the tourism percentage here in the state of Ohio. The graduate from Capital University Law School and Ohio State University will be visiting, where he will continue to work on increasing industry partners and building the visibility of the Ohio. Find It Here brand. He will help grow the state of Ohio’s $44 billion tourism industry by increasing the 219 million annual visits to the Buckeye State.
MacLaren was formerly the Senior Vice President of the memberships for the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA). He has also served as president and CEO where he grew memberships at an all-time high with 25,000 lodging properties that represented over three million hotel rooms in the United States. MacLaren reached record membership levels during his time and won several awards under his leadership.
