The Bible tells me in Genesis Chapter one that God made man in His own image. Verse 27 says, male and female, created he them. In verse 31 I read, And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. God created us in His image, and He was satisfied; said it was good. He loved us as we were created.
Then came the fall of Adam, and sin entered the world. Never again was man the same. Does God still love us? Absolutely! But we are not as God wanted us to be; not as we were created.
Then God provided an answer. One of the most quoted verses in the Bible is John 3:16. It says, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God loved me enough to send His Son to die for me. Through the blood that Jesus shed, because of His love for me, I can be born again. I can become a child of God, not just His creation. As my Father, He teaches, trains, corrects, and encourages me to be the child He wants me to be, because He loves me. As a Christian, I want to please my Father, because of my love for Him. Romans 8:38 and 39 tell me that nothing is able to separate me from the love of God. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
What a blessing to know that God loves me for who I am, and the love we share will make me who I ought to be.
