It’s spring cleaning time and the village of Newcomerstown has scheduled a community clean-up for May 3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and May 4 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Newcomerstown Street Department garage area on north College Street (near the Fire Station).
Residents can bring old appliances, televisions, mattresses, general household items. No old tires, car batteries, or paint cans, or any type of chemicals will be accepted. Village officials said residents should not attempt to drop off any of these items, they will not be accepted, no exceptions.
The village is also planning to once again start offering composting on the third weekend of each month, from May- September. This will be an opportunity for residents to be able to dispose of grass/ weed clippings, brush, tree limbs. The composting event was very popular last year, and the village wants to be able to offer this again according to Mayor,Pat Cadle.
