Congratulations to Caden Norman, who was selected by his teachers as the seventh grade Student of the Month for March at the Newcomerstown Middle School.

Information provided by the school noted: "Caden was nominated for several reasons. First, he is very courteous to all teachers as well as fellow students. In addition, he is very helpful and has a pleasant personality. He is also a confident individual who doesn't feel he needs to conform to the crowd. The NMS staff is happy that he enrolled in our school this year, and wish him the best! Caden, son of Ernie and Stephanie Norman, enjoys playing baseball in his spare time, and his favorite class this year is Phys Ed, not for the reason most folks would give, but instead because students get to learn about good character. If he were the principal at NMS, he would walk into classrooms as often as possible to make sure students were working.

"Some more fun facts about Caden are that he has three pets, dogs named Dodger and Willow, and a cat named Sweetie; his favorite meal is spaghetti; his favorite celebrities are Billy Joel and Elton John; his favorite two movies are "Wonder" and "The Waterboy"; and his pet peeve is when people rub styrofoam together. So far in life, Caden feels his greatest accomplishment has been helping people, and the best advice he's received came from his dad, who told him, ‘Kindness pays off.’ In the future, Caden hopes to continue playing baseball and helping others, and would like to better our world by remaining active in the war against bullying."
