Summer Reading registration begins May 29. This summer, the Newcomerstown Public Library will explore "A Universe of Stories."

Summer Reading lifts off at 1 p.m. June 4. Kids who track the pages they read will win prizes. Each Tuesday, will be a different event. Did you ever wonder what astronauts eat? Did you ever want to make your own universe? Each Tuesday presents a different fun and educational activity. Visit your Library for a complete schedule.

Teens also have their own programs, ending with the popular Teen Lockin on July 27 from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Throughout the summer, they can play reading bingo for prizes. This year, even the youngest can get involved. If you have a kid aged 0 to preschool, check out the at-home Early Literacy Program. The program offers developmental activities with prizes to win, and a grand prize going to the child who reads the most.

Of course, your library hasn’t forgotten about the adults. This summer, you can read whatever adult and YA books you want. Each review you drop off gives you a chance to win at the weekly candy bar drawing. The grand prizes this year are tickets to Amish Country Theater’s "When Pigs Fly" comedy show, 2 season tickets for the Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County, or a $48 gift certificate for the Coshocton Footlight Players. The more you read, the more chances you have to win.

Do you have an air fryer, a grill or a spiralizer? Your library will host an Air Fryer Workshop at 6 p.m. July 19. Chris Kendle from OSU Extension presents this free workshop. Learn the ins and outs of your air fryer and sample her recipes. Chris will return Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. for a Pizza Grilling Workshop. She will demonstrate the tricks to grilling the perfect pizza. Of course, you will get to taste the results! Finally, you can learn how to get the most out of your spiralizer at 6 p.m. Sept. 26. All of these free programs require registration. Chris Kendle needs to know the amount of ingredients to bring.

If you are interested in computers, you can learn now to build and customize your own Raspberry Pi computer. This computer is about the size of a deck of cards, but it can run as a desktop, as a Kodi media center, or as a retro-game emulation console. The workshop will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 21, costs $40 and requires registration.
