NEW PHILADELPHIA — Buckeye Career Center is adding welding technologies to its list of in-demand adult education courses.

Buckeye Career Center Director of Adult Education, Curriculum, & Instruction Frank Polen believes the full-time welding technologies program will help area companies and local residents. "During recent visits to many of our local manufacturing-based companies, we heard of one common theme and that was the need for more certified welders," Polen said. "With the addition of an adult education welding technologies program, we hope to become the premier training center for years to come as participants will have the opportunity to gain AWS Certifications," he said. Students will be eligible for financial aid and part-time welding courses will be available for those seeking specific credentials including GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW. "We feel that whether it be a part-time non-credential, part-time credential, or full-time program, we are prepared to help meet the needs of an in-demand field," Polen said.
