WEST LAFAYETTE — Several Ridgewood High School athletes including the boys’ baseball team were recognized for their post-season accolades during the district’s board recent meeting.
The baseball team finished as Division III runners-up in the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s state tournament.
Generals recognized for competing in the OHSAA State Track Meet in Columbus earlier this month were J.J. Durr (5th in shot, 10th in discus); boys’ 4x200 team of R.J. Hammond, Blake Craigo, Isaiah Lamneck and Andrew Getchey (7th place); Alexis Prater (2nd in long jump, 4th in 100m hurdles, 5th in 100m dash); Grace Gottwalt (9th in 300m hurdles); and the girls’ 4x100 team of Gottwalt, Rachel Foster, Abby Kellish and Prater (3rd place).
Board members offered congratulations to all of the athletes.
Ridgewood Athletic Director and Assistant Principal Matt Colvin also give a presentation on boys’ soccer as a high school sport.
In other business:
Superintendent Mike Masloski gave a presentation on the results of mandated state testing. Ridgewood posted 17 out of 21 scores above the state average.
The board approved the treasurer’s report including the Schoolwide pool fund, Taxpert service agreement, OMNI services agreement, Property and Casualty Insurance with Ohio School Plan administered by Hyland Administrative Services, health insurance agreement renewal with Ohio School Benefits Consortium and Medical Mutual of Ohio, and FFA donations totaling $1,116 from the Janusian Club, Sunrise CO-Op and Coshocton Farm Bureau.
Personnel actions approved included Jeff Larr, third-grade summer school; Tracy Neal, continuing contract; and Taylor Orr, student teacher with Sue David co-operating teacher.
Supplemental contract were awarded to Troy Dolick, head boys’ basketball coach; Tyler McCullough, junior varsity basketball; Ryan Lowe, freshmen boys’ basketball; Thomas Ellis, eighth grade boys’ basketball; Tyler Hains, seventh grade boys’ basketball; Chad Massie, head wrestling coach; Zane Cunningham, middle school wrestling; Chad Carroll, head softball coach; Jill Bryan, junior class advisor (50 percent); Kathy Wright, junior class advisor (50 percent); Jane Beuhler, Nation Honor Society (50 percent) and foreign language advisor (50 percent); Jill Collins, NHS (50 percent, Drama Club and senior class advisor);
And, Debra Carpenter, RHS Accelerated Reader; Haley Evans, RHS concert/drama music director and assistant Drama advisor; Jennifer Lindig, Washington, D.C., advisor; John Lindig, RHS concern band (35 percent) and jazz band director; Amy Lott, freshman class advisor and foreign languages advisor (50 percent); Rebecca Wells, RHS student council (50 percent); Savannah Slusser, RHS student council (50 percent); Penny Mast, RHS yearbook w/plan; Duke Stark, Quiz Team advisor and sophomore class advisor; Michelle Stoffer, Teen Institute.

The board approved the following cafeteria prices: Lunch grades K-3, $2.30; grades 4-12, $ 2.85; adults, $3.10 w/o milk; reduced lunch, $0.40; and extra milk, $0.40. Breakfast prices for adults is $1.60.
Approved a trip supervised by Duke Stark for the Biology Department to visit Costa Rica in July 2020.
The Ridgewood Local School District/Ridgewood Educational Association negotiated agreement from July 1 through June 30, 2022, was approved along with an athletic facility/locker room base option with Hathaway Construction Company.
The next regular board meeting will be 3 p.m. Thursday, June 27 in the administration building, 301 S.Oak Street in West Lafayette.
