Dress-A-Child serves children in grades K-12 attending Tuscarawas County schools. Children must be entering kindergarten in the fall of 2019 for this year’s program. Several women serve as area chairpersons. The organization, strictly volunteer-operated, directs 100% of all donations to the vouchers provided for new school clothing. Children become eligible for the program when their family meets the federal poverty guidelines.
Dress-A-Child provides vouchers for new school clothing by accepting donations from individuals, businesses, churches and service organizations throughout Tuscarawas County and beyond. Last year, Dress-A-Child dressed 1074 children with vouchers worth $84 each. Vouchers are redeemed at the selected shopping site where Dress-A- Child volunteers help in the shopping process.
To contribute to Dress-A-Child, donations may be made payable to Dress-A-Child and sent to 1210 Winkler Drive, Dover, OH 44622. To volunteer to help with registration or shopping: 330-364-1684.
