Afternoon of country music
An afternoon of country music will be presented Sunday, July 7, at the Kimbolton Community Center. Music will begin at noon and continue through 3 p.m. with the bands to be determined.
The kitchen will open at noon to serve baked steak and chicken dinners as well as an assortment of sandwiches and desserts. Carry-out will be available. There will be cake walks and a 50-50 drawing.
This event, sponsored by The Kimbolton Homecoming Committee, is open to the public with no admission charge.
Board of education meeting
The Indian Valley board of education meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday at the board of education office.

July 19-29, celebrating Christmas In July at The Stone House. Come see our Stone House Museum dressed up to portray a "Victorian Christmas" in July.
Holy Land objects, pictures event
Pastor Neal and Julie Dearyan have co-hosted many trips throughout the world, including the Middle East. As seasoned travelers, they will share Israeli culture through stories, pictures and food at an event July 25 at Wallhouse Coffee Co., 751 Dover Road NE, Sugarcreek. They will share pieces of historical Israel from the time of the Bible. First century items on loan from a private collection will be on display and some can be held. Information will be provided about their upcoming trip to Israel in March 2020. The public is invited and all are welcome. Chicken BBQ and Bluegrass Music Jam
Newcomerstown Historical Society is having a chicken BBQ and Bluegrass Music Jam at 4 p.m. July 19, at the Olde Main Street Museum, 213 W. Canal St., Newcomerstown. The Chestnut Hill Bluegrass Band will headline the music portion of the event and musicians are welcome to come join in the fun. The menu includes ½ chicken, potato salad, baked beans, roll, drink and a dessert. Tickets are $10 and are available in advance only. They can be picked up at the Olde Main Street Museum Box Office from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. Sundays. Carry-out meals will be available. Vacation Bible School
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Newcomerstown,121 S. College St., will be having Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon July 8-12. Grab your camera and get ready for wild encounters at "In the Wild" VBS. Join us for Bible lessons, snacks, crafts, music, games and more! Classes for Pre K to sixth grade. Newcomerstown High School Class of 1960 luncheon, noon, July 10, Touraine Club at 111 Bridge St., Newcomerstown.
Barton Levels 1, 2 and 3 training, dyslexia screening training, foundations in sound training (18 hours of training videos) will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Chili Learning Center, 29445 County Road 10, Fresno. Cost is $400 and space is limited. Meals and snacks are included.
To use Barton Level 1-3 for tutoring, you’ll also need Barton Levels 1, 2 and 3. Becoming a certified Barton tutor requires additional training but this will enable you to tutor with confidence.
