"The Fragrance of the Rose." I realize that my contribution that day was somewhat lacking but I pray you could overlook that and see the beauty of the song.

The song is about walking with Jesus who truly is the Rose, and then taking on the very fragrance of that rose and allowing it to influence not only my life, but the lives of those around me.

The third verse says that when I have been with Jesus, walking with him, I take on the fragrance of the rose, then as it lingers on and around me others can see this wonderful change. Though I may not realize there is a difference in me, others can see and will know that I have been with him.

As we sang I was reminded of the time when Moses Last Sunday morning Roxann and I sang the song, returned from Mount Sinai and his face shown after being in the presence of God. Exodus 34:30 reads, "And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him." Verse 33 says that Moses put a veil on his face while he spoke to the people. Though there may not be a physical change in me after being with Jesus, I believe that time spent with him will always bring about a change in my life.

It’s a blessing to know that when I have been with Jesus the sweetness of his presence may linger and come forth as the fragrance of the rose.
