Doris L. "Dottie" Vierheller Trueblood, 91, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, in Union Hospital, Dover.

She had resided at the Riverside Apartments, Newcomerstown, for the past six years. She and her second husband, Edward H. Trueblood, enjoyed 22 years together in Flagler Beach, Fla. She was a graduate of Tuscarawas High School, Class of 1935.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond W. Vierheller in 1975, after almost 40 years of marriage; her second husband, Edward Trueblood in 1998; parents, Thomas and Louise Guetterman Wilkinson; daughter, Judith Hawthorne of Barnhill; and son, Daniel Vierheller.

Dottie was also the last member of her generation of the Wilkinson family, having been preceded in death by brother, Raymond Wilkinson of Florida, and twin sister, Romaine Fillman of Florida.

Dottie is survived by two sons and their wives, Thomas and Karen Vierheller and David and Marilyn Vierheller; son-in-law, Donald Hawthorne; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1938 and spent many years teaching people about her loving God, Jehovah. She delighted in helping many gain accurate Bible knowledge.

To honor Doris' wishes, her remains are to be cremated. No public visiting hours will be observed. A memorial service was held at the New Philadelphia Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1212 Kelly Avenue, NW, on Saturday, Dec. 13. Gary Gontero conducted the services.

The family is requesting that memorials be made in Doris' name to the Port Washington Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 9603 Bunker Hill Rd., SW, Port Washington, OH 43837.
