Funeral services for Dale Estella "Dolly" McMasters, 84, of Gnadenhutten, formerly a longtime resident of Fresno, were Dec. 26, 2008, at the Rush Community Church of the Nazarene near Uhrichsville. The services were conducted by Dr. Fred L. Wallis. Interment followed in the Rush Church Cemetery. She passed away Dec. 22, 2008, at Union Hospital in Dover, following a lengthy illness.

Born April 12, 1924, in Mill Township, Tuscarawas County, she was a daughter of the late John B. and Alfarata (Gram) Hutson. The last of her family's generation, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth G. Foote; and five brothers, John Robert, Daniel E. "Bus," Charles H. "Jigg," Rollin and Edgar Merlin Hutson.

Dolly was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed doing puzzles and playing Bingo, in addition to caring for her family. She was a member at Rush Nazarene Church.

On July 21, 1942, she married Lorenzo Francis "Tink" McMasters, with whom she enjoyed 53 years of marriage until his passing on April 27, 1995.

Tink and Dolly are survived by four sons, Robert E. (Florence) McMasters of Minerva, John R. McMasters of Tennessee, David Lee (Carey) McMasters of Newcomerstown and Daniel L. (Cheryl) McMasters of New Philadelphia; three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Sandy) Mangus of Uhrichsville, Mrs. Jeff (Sally) Houseman of North Canton and Mrs. Robert (Bonnie) Luckan of Ambridge, Pa..; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

They were preceded in death by a son, James E. McMasters; and a grandson, Richard J. Mangus.

Memorial contributions may be made to her family in care of the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home to help defray the cost of her final expenses.
