WILLIAM M. BUNDY
William M. "Bill" Bundy, a lifelong Newcomerstown resident, passed away Tuesday morning, March 10, 2009, in the Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Newcomerstown. Private, family graveside services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family in West Lawn Cemetery , Newcomerstown. Mr. James Tufford will conduct the services. The Ourant Funeral Home in Newcomerstown is assisting the family.
William was born in Cumberland (Guernsey County), on June 1, 1910, a son of the late John Wesley and Julia Calihan Bundy.
He attended Newcomerstown schools and was a member of the Newcomerstown Church of the Nazarene, where he served as a trustee for 18 years. William worked in the forging room and ran the drop hammer for the former Heller Brothers Tool Company, Newcomerstown, where he was employed for over 42 years before his retirement in 1972. Bill enjoyed gardening and fishing as favorite activities.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Grace Stocker Bundy of Newcomerstown, who passed away Dec. 15, 1997, and whom he married May 18, 1935. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, David Lee Bundy of Newcomerstown; sisters, Fern M. Norman and Fay M. Hyslop, both of Newcomerstown, Wilma F. Hardesty of Coshocton, Emma M. Warehime of Ava, Ruth A. Bundy; and brothers, Paul F. Bundy of West Lafayette, Robert F. Bundy of Coshocton, George Caleb Bundy and Homer W. Bundy.
He is survived by a son, Everett L. (JoLinda) Bundy of Newcomerstown; granddaughters, Karen (Terry) Stahl, Karole (Tim) Kees and Kathy (Tom) Lindell, all of Newcomerstown; great-grandchildren, Christopher Kyle, Jessica Kyle and Monique Robinson, all of Newcomerstown, Gary (Melissa) Stahl of Gnadenhutten, and Andrew Stahl, Brian Stahl, Staci Lindell, and Tiffany Kees, all of Newcomerstown; five great-great-grandchildren, Joseph Kyle and Trenton Wright, both of Newcomerstown, and Haley, Ty and Traye Stahl, all of Gnadenhutten; a brother, Rev. Herbert R. Bundy of Coshocton; a sister-in-law, Maxine Bundy of Coshocton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family is requesting that memorials be made in Bill's name to the Newcomerstown Church of the Nazarene, 363 Neighbor St., Newcomerstown, OH 43832.
