Funeral services for Carl William Hothem, 96, of Coshocton, formerly of Fresno, were June 12, 2009, at the Given-Dawson Funeral Home, Coshocton. Pastor Mary Owen officiated. Interment followed in the Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette. He passed away Sunday, June 7 at the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital Extended Care.

He was born July 4, 1912, in Adams Township, a son of the late William H. and Ida (Reiss) Hothem.

He attended the West Lafayette School and was the owner-operator of Carl's Feed and Supply in Fresno. Carl was also a blacksmith and member of the Fresno United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his children, Marilyn J. (James) Mapel of Monroe, William Lee Hothem of Shreve, and Robert N. (Marde) Hothem and John W. (Carolie) Hothem, both of West Lafayette; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Lewis Hothem of Newcomerstown; sister, Leone Arcore of Newcomerstown; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, who passed away in 1999, and two sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fresno United Methodist Church.
