Funeral services for David F. Greathouse, 67, of Newcomerstown, were Dec. 1, 2009, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown. The Rev. Ronald Little officiated the services. He passed away Nov. 25 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.

He was born Oct. 21, 1942, in Coshocton, the son of the late Fredrick and Frances (Tice) Greathouse.

He was a 1960 graduate of Newcomerstown High School.

Mr. Greathouse was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran who served from July 26, 1960, until July 25, 1966.

He retired from G.E. of Coshocton in 1997. Then he worked part-time for H&M and Adventure Harley Davidson in Dover.

He was Catholic by faith.

Mr. Greathouse enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling, yard work and his grandkids. He was also a member of AA for 30 years.

On April 3, 1964, he married Bonnie L. (Hashman) Greathouse, who survives.

Other survivors include one son, Todd W. Greathouse of Newcomerstown; one daughter, Melinda L. (Bruce) Woodworth of Dover; two grandchildren, Josiah Greathouse and his mother, Jessie Marcincavage, and Emily Lu Woodworth; and one sister, Ellen (James) McDonnell of Newcomerstown.

He was preceded in death by one son, David F. Greathouse Jr.
