Mae Evelyn Bucher, 84, of Newcomerstown, formerly of Freeport, Mich., passed away Dec. 21, 2009, at Union Hospital, Dover.

She was born in Akron on Feb. 22, 1925, to Chester and Mildred (Newberry) Bittecuffer.

Mae was raised in Akron. She, her husband Kenneth and family moved to Freeport, Mich., in 1966. They were both CB radio enthusiasts going by the names "Annie Oakley" and "Winchester 348."

Mae loved playing Euchre, bowling and fishing. She returned to Ohio in 1985, where she enjoyed watching the rivalry between Michigan and Ohio teams.

She is survived by her children, Richard (Peggy) Strazisar of Abita Springs, La., Susan Strazisar of Bellevue, Mich., John (Joan) Strazisar of Hastings, Mich., and Bradley (June) Bucher of Newcomerstown; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings, June (Richard) Roe of Newcomerstown, Edra (Gaylord) Dye of Kimbolton and Chester (Bonnie) Bittecuffer of Rittman; and step-children, Loretta Smith of Hastings, Mich., Caroline (James) Knotts of Akron and Darlene (Virgil) Arnes of Akron.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kennie Bee Bucher and her husband, Kenneth; son, Jeff Bucher; step-sons, Kenneth and John Bucher; sister, Inez Robertson; and special friend, William Ricketts.

Honoring Mae's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no service.

The Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown is assisting the family.
