Funeral services for Alva "Alvie" W. Kirk, 70, of Coshocton, were Dec. 31, 2009, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown. Pastor Martin Addy officiated the services with burial in the West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown. He passed away Dec. 26 at the Lafayette Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, West Lafayette.

He was born July 5, 1939, in Freeport, the son of the late Earl and Eula (Toland) Kirk.

He retired from Pretty Products of Coshocton.

Mr. Kirk was a member of the Moose, Army-Navy and Eagles lodges, all of Coshocton. He enjoyed motorcycles, singing, playing guitar, loved music and drawing art.

Survivors include two sons, Lonnie Kirk and companion Sandy of West Lafayette and Johnnie (Shirley) Kirk of Newcomerstown; one daughter, Corinna Kirk Welch of Flagler Beach, Fla.; step-daughter, Betty (Mike) Wilson of Iowa; six grandchildren, Areon, Jacob, Jordan, Samantha, Frankie and Hannah; one great-grandson, Zachary; two step-grandchildren, James and Joseph; three step-great-grandchildren, Serenity, Keegan and Chase; and two brothers, Dwight Kirk of Greensboro, N.C., and Denver Kirk of Coshocton.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Johnnie Lee; and two sisters, Kathleen Kirk and Iva Jean Edens.

Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
