Charles R. "Chuck" Graham, 79, of Quaker City, passed away Wednesday (Dec. 30, 2009) at the Southeastern Medical, Cambridge.

He was born May 18, 1930, in Tuscarawas County, son of the late Roy Graham and Cora (Myers) Graham.

Mr. Graham had worked at NCR from 1968 to 1972. He was also a rural mail carrier out of the Quaker City Post Office from 1971 to 1985.

Mr. Graham was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served from Oct. 27, 1948, to April 16, 1968. He was a life member of the VFW Post 7371 of Kipling and a member of the American Legion Post 0168 of Barnesville.

He greatly enjoyed hunting and farming. In fact, he continued to farm up until the time of his death.

He was completely devoted to his family, and especially loved and enjoyed his three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Graham; and three sisters, Viola Graham, Catherine Lee and Frances Waller.

He is survived by his wife, Rena (Sauvageot) Graham of the home, whom he married Oct. 30, 1957; a daughter, Kathryn Graham of Florida; a sister, Mary Meeks of Cambridge; a grandson, Randy Cologie Jr. and his fiancé, Brandy Lucas of Newark; two granddaughters, Savannah Thompson of Quaker City and Courtney Volz of Lore City; a great-granddaughter, Anna Thompson of Quaker City; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill and Claudia Sauvageot of California, Aldy and Della Sauvageot of West Virginia, Kitty Bachman of New Hampshire and Emma Lattea of Newcomerstown; also Randy Cologie Sr. and family, who was like a son to them; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Jan. 5, 2010, at the Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City. Pastor John Neff officiated.

Burial was in the Pisgah Cemetery, with military graveside services were conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
