John C. Kissel, III, 47, of Newcomerstown, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, in Union Hospital at Dover following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Jan. 23, 1963, in Coshocton, the son of John c. Kissel and companion, Judy West, and Sandra (Bean) Olinger and her husband, Chuck.

John was a graduate of Newcomerstown High School and would go on to become a co-owner of J&J Cores at Newcomerstown.

Being outdoors, enjoying Harley Motorcycles and dirt biking were a few of John's favorite pastimes. He had found great companionship with his canine friend, Clarabel.

In addition to his parents, John is survived by the mother of his children, Laurel Kissel of Newcomerstown; his three children, Keelyne, Nash and Ryker, all of the home; a sister, Shelly (Richard) Lehman; and his maternal grandmother, Donna Bean all of New Philadelphia.

One niece and one nephew as well a numerous aunts and uncles complete the family.

John was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John C. and Sarah Kissel; and his maternal grandfather, Clyde Tom Bean.

A previously-planned benefit on Sunday, Jan. 31 offered a time for family and friends to gather and celebrate John's life in Christ United Methodist Church at Newcomerstown. In keeping with his wishes, John will be cremated through the care of Geib's Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover .
