Funeral services for Dale Eugene Arnold, 81, of Newcomerstown, were Feb. 5, 2010, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown. Pastor Brent Heishman officiated the services with burial in the East Avenue Cemetery, New Philadelphia. Military services were conducted by the Newcomerstown Veterans Honor Guard. He passed away Feb. 2 at Union Hospital in Dover.

He was born Feb. 27, 1928, in Tuscarawas County, the son of the late Homer and Helen (Lemasters) Arnold.

He was a 1946 graduate of Uhrichsville High School.

Mr. Arnold was a U.S. Army Korean Conflict veteran.

He also retired from General Tire of Newcomerstown.

Mr. Arnold attended the Assembly of God in Newcomerstown, as well as was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3303 of Newcomerstown, NRA, The Ohio Wagon Train Association and Buckeye Horse Pulling Association.

On Sept. 12, 1950, he married Martha Loretta (Phillips) Arnold, who survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Marianne (Harley) Dakin of Newcomerstown and Alice (Mike) Webber of Elyria; three grandchildren, Shawn Aubrey Dakin and wife, Jami Rose, Ashlee Kay Webber and Richard Webber; five great-grandchildren, William Harley Dakin, Alexis Christine Dakin, Hayden Dale Dakin, Alan Webber and Adrian Webber; and one brother, Gary (Fanny) Arnold of West Lafayette.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Paul Dale Arnold; one daughter, Sally Jane Arnold; one brother, Vernon Arnold; and one sister, Verna Smith.
