Funeral services for June Pauline Stowers, 75, of Newcomerstown, were March 13, 2010, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown. Pastor Derek Hickman officiated the services with burial in the Peoples Community Church Cemetery, Newcomerstown. She passed away March 9 at the Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cambridge.

She was born Nov. 4, 1934, in Jefferson, N.C., the daughter of the late Lester and Ruby Woodard.

She was a dishwasher for several restaurants.

On April 18, 1949, she married James P. Stowers Sr., who survives.

Other survivors include one son, James P. Stowers Jr. of Marion; four daughters, Doris (Roland) Rankin of Chatsworth, Ga., Mary Sue (Michael) Moore of Newcomerstown, Erie Mae (James) Hampton of Gastonia, N.C., and Kris Lorine Taylor and husband Robert Leland of Zanesville; 31 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bill Woodard of North Carolina and Glen Woodard of Tennessee.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Eugene Stowers; one daughter, Wilma Juanita Stowers; three brothers, Earl, Lester and Hoover; and three sisters, Belle, Bobbie and Grace.
