Charles Edward Phillips Sr., 67, of Kimbolton, passed away Wednesday (March 10, 2010) at his home.
He was born April 7, 1942, in Cleveland, the son of the late Herman R. Phillips and Margaret (Drescher) Phillips.
Mr. Phillips retired from Detroit Diesel, where he had worked as a machinist.
He was a member of the Cambridge VFW Post 2901.
Mr. Phillips was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the 909st Airborne First Air Calvary during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Marguerite.
He is survived by two sons, David Emery Phillips (and Cindy Jean Nottingham) of Clay, W.Va., and Charles (Jessica) Phillips II of Carrollton; a brother, Herman (Carol) Phillips of Painesville; three sisters, Nancy Boyd, Margaret (Richard) Salesick and Susan Phillips; three grandchildren, Alexis, Charli and Rilee; and many nieces and nephews.
No calling hours will be observed.
Graveside services and burial were March 27, 2010 at the West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown, with military graveside services.
