LeRoy W. "Wally" Irons Jr., 63, of West Lafayette, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Union Hospital in Dover.

He was born Tuesday, April 1, 1947, in New Jersey, to the late LeRoy Irons Sr. and the late Anna Mae (Stewart) Irons.

LeRoy did roofing and was a truck driver for Family Dollar.

He attended Wesley Community Chapel of Peoli.

LeRoy loved his family very much.

His kids, grandkids and great-grandkids will miss him very much.

LeRoy loved to fish, go Pontoon boating with his family, his woodworking shop and was a NASCAR fan. He loved nature and fed all the backyard critters.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Johnnie Lee Kirk; two sisters; and one dog, RusTee.

He is survived by his wife, Elise Bernice "Pat" (Tennant) Irons, whom he married Jan. 23, 1993.

Survivors include three daughters, Melissa Ann (Yancey) Irons-Baker of Waxhaw, N.C., Betty (Mike) Wilson of Jewett and Corinna Welch of Flaglar Beach, Fla.; two sons, Lonnie Kirk and companion Sandy Weltman of West Lafayette and Johnnie (Shirley) Kirk of Newcomerstown; 10 grandchildren, Areon, Joey, Jake, Jordan, Samantha, Brandyn, Kasie, James, Hannah and Frankie; six great-grandchildren, Zac, J-Lynn, Chase, Keegan, Zoey and Serenity; one brother, Dean (Kim) Thompson of Mt. Holly, N.J.; two sisters, Sara Irons and Betty Irons, both of Waxhaw, N.C.; a lot of special friends; and two dogs "kids," Oscar and MisTee Mae.

Services were June 8, 2010, at the Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown. Pastor Jay Rock officiated.

Burial was in Peoples Community Church Cemetery, Newcomerstown.
